We're pleased to announce the latest updates to the Tech Log suite of products. A number of the following updates are upcoming, but we wanted to give you a head's up; these changes should be live by 25th Nov 2022.
Global Enhancements
In July, we introduced a beta version of an Intermittent Faults / Observations module, which allows for the reporting of non-airworthiness events and observations regarding the aircraft's systems. The next release will introduce some further functionality, including:
- The ability to add an Intermittent Fault report as part of the postflight workflow on both the iPad Application and Web Dashboard.
If you would like to discuss adding this module to your account, please contact support.

New Features
The main feature coming to the next version of the iPad Application is the ability to export a PDF overview of a trip from the device, even without an internet connection. This is initially being launched in beta and will be opt-in at first, but if you're interested in trying it out on one of your aircraft when the app update is released, please contact support.
While the exported document will not be in your custom SRP format, it contains all the trip, sector, and aircraft information to act as a backup procedure in the event of a connection problem. The created PDF can then be shared to an agent on the ground via AirDrop, using another service that is still operating (e.g. email, iMessage), or even sent to a wireless printer.
Enhancements
- An aircraft banner highlighting the aircraft registration and current serviceability status has been added to the dashboard tile pop ups to confirm the aircraft being viewed.
- Operational procedures from deferred defects will be displayed at the top of the preflight workflow, reminding crew of the actions they need to take. This change is coming out of beta and will be enabled for everyone from the 25th November. If you do not want to accept this change to your aircraft, please contact support.
- Password manager support has been added to the Application, so if you're a user of iCloud Keychain, 1Password, Last Pass, or a similar tool, you'll be able to login using a stored username and password.
Bug Fixes
- A rare issue where users were being logged out with a message saying it was done “for security reasons” has been resolved. This was caused by a failed connection to the server while the application was in the background.
In line with our procedures, we support versions of the Application for a period of time after they are released, allowing time for changes to be adopted by all of our operators. Version 1.11, first released 16 months ago, is at the end of its lifecycle and support will be removed in the coming weeks. This shouldn't impact any existing customers, but please do ensure that all devices are running Application version 1.12.0 or later. Please reach out if you have any concerns.

Latest Web Dashboard Release

The Web Dashboard is updated continuously throughout our development cycles. These are just some of the enhancements we've added recently, and some that will be making their way out to you in the next week:
Enhancements
- Sectors can now be marked as abandoned from the Web Dashboard, matching the functionality of the iPad Application. This option is available when entering edit mode.
- Several of the Dashboard modules have been upgraded to better support mobile workflows, so you're now able to more easily complete your tasks while away from the desk.
- The Trip Update editing flow has been updated to match the styling of the rest of the Application, providing a more consistent experience.
- An enhancement has been made to the Maintenance module, making it clearer which items have been resolved.
- A History view is being added to each Maintenance Item, allowing you to view when an item was last modified.
- The default Defect ordering has been updated to show overdue and upcoming defects at the top of the table.
- The default Workpack ordering has been updated to sort by status then date. Resolved items will continue to stay at the end of the table.
- If you expand the aircraft totals view, this will be remembered if you change aircraft, giving you consistent access to the view you prefer.
