Overview
This guide details how to use the Intermittent Faults module within the Tech Log Application.
Module Name
In this documentation, the module is referred to as Intermittent Faults, however, in order to comply with your existing operational procedures, this name may have been changed on your account. The same procedures are applicable, regardless of the displayed name.
Prerequisites
Intermittent Faults is an optional module within the Tech Log platform. If you are unable to see it, please contact our support team to discuss adding it to your account..
At present, any user with access to the aircraft via Tech Log Application will be able to record and view Intermittent Faults. No enhanced permissions are required.
The information in this document is applicable from Application version 1.15.1 onwards.

Recording an Intermittent Fault
The Intermittent Fault reporting flow is shared with the Defect reporting flow. If enabled for your aircraft, you can start the process by selecting Add Intermittent Fault from either of these locations:
- From the Intermittent Faults tile on the Dashboard
- From the Intermittent Faults tab of the Maintenance module
These will start the flow with an Intermittent Fault issue type already selected. Alternatively, you can start the Defect reporting flow by selecting Add Defect from either of these locations:
- From the Defects tile on the Dashboard
- From the Defects tab of the Maintenance module
Starting the flow this way will not default to the Intermittent Fault type, so you will need to manually select it:
After this point, the only required field is Details where you should provide details of the event you wish to record. Please note that the suitability of an event to be recorded as an Intermittent Fault is entirely dependent on your operational and regulatory procedures.
Optionally, add any relevant attachments. Then select Save. Your report will be saved to the Intermittent Faults module.
Viewing Intermittent Faults
Recorded faults can be viewed either by selecting the Intermittent Fault Dashboard tile or entering the Maintenance module and selecting the Intermittent Fault tab.
Dashboard Tile
The dashboard tile provides quick access to view recent Intermittent Faults. It does not have a colour status, as Intermittent Faults will not impact the aircraft’s serviceability status. The tile will, however, include a counter indicating how many recent faults have been recorded (if any). By default, this will be limited to the past 30 days, however, this value is configurable and may be different for your specific aircraft.
Tapping on the tile will present a list of recent faults.
Maintenance Module
To view all available faults, along with additional information, enter the the Maintenance module and select the Intermittent Faults tab:
Editing & Deleting Reported Faults
Once reported, Intermittent Faults cannot be edited. Instead they should be deleted and a corrected report created. Deleting Intermittent Faults can be achieved from the Web Dashboard. Please refer to instructions in TL-UGD-DEF-003.
