To ensure the SRP reflects a current maintenance task being undertaken, this method can create a placeholder 'open entry' if you require it. Please note: in future revisions of the software, this will be incorporated without the need to use this process.
1. To ground the aircraft for maintenance, head to the defect page and press "+ Add New" then "Defect" in the top right corner.
2. Leave the flight details empty and select a date for the work to commence. You can just press Today if it has already begun. Then enter the defect details.
3. Do not add a deferral and just skip to the bottom of the page where you can sign off the defect and click submit. This will then ground the aircraft until this defect is cleared.
6. Navigating to the 'Trips' tab from the left, you will now see a Trip Update from the date you specified, with an SRP containing the open defect. Clicking on the SRP will show you the page.
6. The defect can then be added to a workpack by following the How to create a Workpack article.
7. Once the Workpack is signed off, the defect will be cleared and the open SRP entry closed.
