This guide explains how to add, adjust or reset hours within the Web Dashboard.
If you have a new aircraft, or fit a new component (eg. Engine/APU) that requires the hours/cycles to be reset, you can do this through a Trip Update. By using a Trip Update, you will be creating an entry (essentially through an SRP) with new totals from that point onwards. Any previous flights will not be affected.
Adding starting totals
Before starting to use the Tech Log. Starting hours should be to be entered onto the Tech Log to match hours as they are in your MRO system or on paper.
The starting totals (hours, cycles) for aircraft are stored as a Trip Update at the very beginning of the aircraft's trip history - Trip #1
1. Beginning from the aircraft dashboard, click on Trips on the left hand navigation bar.
- Set date - this is the date you want to start tracking hours on the Tech Log (to avoid an hours disparate, always add starting totals when you know the aircraft won't be flying without using the Tech Log)
- Add Hours, landings and Flight Cycles
- Add Engine hours ( if applicable for you operation)
- Click Save
6. Hour will be displayed on the aircraft Dashboard
Adjusting Current Hours
Where aircraft hours needs to be adjusted, this can be done by editing the appropriate trip update record.
1. On the appropriate trip update record, hover over the 3-dot menu on the right of the table and select Edit
2. This will open the Trip Update drawer, which shows the current brought-forward and carried-forward totals for the airframe, engines, propellers & APU as applicable.
The fields will be unlocked, allowing you to adjust the totals as required. Note: Flight cycles and Landings are usually the same value for fixed-wing aircraft, but must both be completed.
When you are finished, click the "Save" button at the foot of the drawer.
The new totals will be saved and the brought-forward/carried-forward hours for all subsequent trips updated to reflect the new values.
To view the new values and see the impact on subsequent trips, view aircraft the Logbook and pick the first month of the aircraft's history. This will show the totals carried forward for each month.
Resetting hours
Where hours require resetting because on a component change, this can be done by editing the appropriate trip update record.
1. On the appropriate trip update record, hover over the 3-dot menu on the right of the table and select Override.
2. The "Carried Forward" fields will be unlocked, allowing you to enter the new values you require. Click on "Clear Override) in blue will revert the back to the original totals for each field.
3. Once you're happy with your changes, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see the Save button. Click this to update your changes to the aircraft.
4. You can confirm the success of your changes by either clicking on the SRP to view the updated hours, or by returning to the Dashboard and viewing them in the overview at the top. You can also review the hours override in the aircraft Logbook.
