Overview:
This month’s releases continues our focus on enhancing data transparency, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across the Tech Log platform. The addition of MEL revision visibility ensures pilots and maintenance teams can quickly verify they are working with the correct operational documents, aligning with best practices for flight safety and audit readiness. Our new API enhancement allows seamless sharing of defect resolution stations with external systems, further streamlining maintenance tracking. Finally, the introduction of departure airport misalignment alerts helps crews and dispatch teams catch discrepancies earlier, improving data accuracy and supporting consistent flight planning. This release also includes several bug fixes across the web dashboard and iOS, enhancing stability and reinforcing TrustFlight’s commitment to delivering a reliable and user-friendly experience.
What's New
1. MEL Revision on Tech Log
To enhance operational transparency and strengthen the integration between the Tech Log and MEL Manager products, the Tech Log now displays the current MEL (Minimum Equipment List) revision information for each aircraft on the web dashboard when deferring a defect. Once a MEL is published in MEL Manager and assigned to an aircraft in Tech Log, its revision is automatically tracked and displayed—ensuring that pilots and maintenance personnel always have access to the latest, authoritative documentation. This integration streamlines workflows and supports regulatory compliance by maintaining consistent, up-to-date MEL information across both systems.
2. Resolution station for MROs
The Tech Log system now automatically captures the station where a defect is resolved and makes this information available through the API. This new capability improves integration with maintenance management systems, allowing operators to track and report defect resolutions more accurately across their maintenance workflow.
3. Departure Airport Misalignment
Previously, the Tech Log iPad app automatically updated the departure airport to align with the last known arrival airport whenever a mismatch was detected, while also displaying a warning banner to notify the pilot of this change. While this automatic correction streamlined workflows, some operators prefer to manage these mismatches manually to align with their operational processes and maintain NavBlue data integrity.
With this update, a new operator setting allows customers to disable the automatic update of the departure airport and instead simply display an alert banner highlighting the discrepancy. This gives pilots and dispatch teams the flexibility to review and resolve the issue manually within their existing workflow. By providing this optional setting, the Tech Log now better supports a wider range of operational preferences and regulatory needs, while still ensuring that pilots are clearly informed of any discrepancies before the flight.
