Changes to Hierarchies
Complete replacement of Hierarchy
-
- Complete replacement of the hierarchy is possible, but requires reclassifying all findings/cases that are currently classified using the existing hierarchy by Customer.
Moving/Adding/Renaming/Removing values within a Hierarchy:
You will be sent the current hierarchy content in the form of an Excel sheet(s). Please update and return using the following guidelines for the required action:
Note: Do not adjust any of the ID references, as these are the programmatic links to the Values in your system. Simply highlight all the necessary changes using the following colour codes:
-
-
- Yellow: Denotes a move of the item within the hierarchy (The classification value is retained, but is resident in a different location in the Hierarchy tree).
- Green: Denotes the addition of new hierarchy value. (Once updated the new Value will be available for use)
- Blue: Denotes a rename of the Value (all Categorisations would be updated in the system to the new Text provided)
- White: Denotes no change to the item (No change)
- Red: Denotes the removal of a value from a hierarchy item. This is only possible if the value is not currently being used. In most cases this will likely prevent the value from being removed. You can either;
-
- Reclassify all Cases/Findings using the value to allow removal.(Manual task performed by Customers)
- Provide an alternative text for the value (Blue).
- Move the Value, for example, to an 'Archived' group. To retain the historical usage, but demonstrate to Staff it's no longer relevant for use (Yellow)
-
-
For example using the following Hierarchy:
The following should be returned to Support in order to:
- Rename Level 1 'Manuals' to 'Manuals A-C'
- Introduce a New Level 1 'Manuals D-E', and move Level 2 'Ops Part D' Ops Part E' & 'Other' to this new Level 1 group.
- Delete the Option for 'Quality Manual'.
- Introduce a new Value for 'Compliance Manual'.
- Move Safety Manual to a sub value of the new 'Archived' level, as the value is in use, and therefore cannot simply be deleted
- No Change to 'One-Off', 'General Practice'.
