Overview:

This release introduces new features to improve export capabilities, streamline MEL-to-Tech Log data transfers, and enhance usability for MEL authors with better tools/ux for identifying and managing new items. It also includes updates to XML exports, PDF formatting, and various bug fixes addressing editor functionality, data accuracy, and content validation.

What's New

1. “New” Icon for New Items and DCs During Revisions

A “New” Icon has been added for Items and DCs to help MEL Authors quickly identify things added as new. The icon is applied across all major editor sections including Basic Content sections, MEL/NEF/CDL Items and DCs, and also CAS Message items and CAS Message DC’s. Users can dismiss the icon by selecting the “Mark as reviewed“ checkbox.

2. “Export” Button Added to Editor

A new Export button has been added to the Mel Editor top navigation area. Options for MEL export, previously included in a buttons with settings and revisions options, are now located in this new button. The button should better organizes common MEL functions and allows users to generate PDFs, AMOS files, XML MEL files, and NavBlue XML files from a single location. For AMOS exports, users have the option to select between MELs, NEFs and CDLs.

3. CDL and NEF Content Added to PDFs

Updated PDF exports to now include CDL and NEF content.

4. Faster Data Transfer Between MEL Manager and Tech Log

The MEL data transfer time to Tech Log has been reduced from ~30-minutes to ~5-minutes and general performance of the exports should behave better.

6. Smart Merge Tracking and Logging

Added tracking and logging for Smart Merge to allow the development team to more effectively debug this feature.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug which caused blank aircraft ID’s being sent to other Trustflight services, resulting in aircraft registration displays breaking on the home page table.

• Resolved an error which occurred after uploading and moving images.

• The `changeStatus` (isRevisedOrNew) field now contains accurate data in the response from the backend, and the field is properly updated in the cache.

• Adding a new DC will no longer break the order of DC’s for MEL/NEF/CDL & CAS options in the editor and exported data.

• Updated the display order of Maintenance Procedures and Operational Procedures fields in the Editor and exported data. Maintenance Procedure now always come before the Operational Procedure, and in the tables, (M) now always comes before (O).

• Adding a bullet list in the editor for new Chapters Items now works as expected.

• Made a change to prevent empty chapter titles for MEL/CDL/NEF Chapters.

• Added a new validation step to help prevent errors with SmartMerge content.

• Made updates to improve the structure and accuracy of XML exports, including:

  • Label elements are now only required for Dispatch Conditions of items that have more than one dispatch condition.

  • Each 'parent' item now contains a unique combination of ataChapter and sequenceNo.

  • The XML export now properly differentiates between the MEL block and CDL block items.
