We're pleased to announce the latest updates to the Tech Log suite of products. A number of the following updates are upcoming and should be live by 7th June 2023, but we wanted to let you know what to expect ahead of time!
Global Enhancements

User Confirmation
On occasions where an iPad device is shared amongst crew, the system now supports quick user switching, with signatures verified by PINs on the iPad Application. At any point when picking up a logged in device, or when a signature is required, the user can be switched and PIN verified, with this information recorded against the action being taken.
This also allows logged in users to be switched, without the need to completely log out of the iPad Application, which when enabled for an aircraft, can be accessed by selecting the menu icon in the header on any screen.
In order to set a PIN, users will be able to edit their profile on the Web Dashboard, accessible within the 'Account Settings' page. Admins will also have permissions to set a new pin for other users, however will not be able to view current PINs set.
Maintenance Checks and Serviceability
The Maintenance Check and Aircraft Serviceability systems have been overhauled on both the Web Dashboard and iPad Application, this will bring the Serviceability Status visible on both systems to be in complete alignment. Existing customers using the Maintenance Checks module will notice that, when updating to the latest iPad release, overdue Maintenance Checks no longer cause the aircraft to be unserviceable, but continue to inhibit preflight from being completed. This aligns the iPad with the Web Dashboard, and is designed to cater for business jet operators who have crew authorised to perform Maintenance Checks.
A new configuration has now been added that changes this behaviour and treats Maintenance Checks in line with Scheduled Maintenance Items for the purpose of calculating serviceability. If this is enabled, via the Operator Settings page on the Web Dashboard, Overdue or Incomplete Maintenance Checks on both the iPad Application and Web Dashboard will cause the aircraft to be Unserviceable.
An additional change has been made for aircraft that have EROPS/ETOPS checks, where Crew Members or an Engineer is required to specify if the next sector requires the check be completed. The EROPS check will remain Incomplete, until the EROPS Check Not Required option is selected from the Maintenance Checks workflow. This change will ensure that an explicit action is required before preflight can be signed without a valid EROPS check.
Integrations with Leon and AMOS
As mentioned in separate emails sent out last month, both the Leon and AMOS integrations are now available on Tech Log. For a demo or assistance in enabling the integrations, please contact support.

Web Dashboard Release

New Features
- A new Operator Settings page has been added to the first level navigation on the Web Dashboard, allowing you to edit operator details, configure document fields, and set terminology preferences without the need to contact support. Changes made within this page will impact all users within that operator.
- The ability to defer a defect has now been added to the Public Resolution workflows to allow users to include deferral details, without signing off the Defect.
Enhancements
- Resolved maintenance items will now be hidden by default to ensure that focus is kept on the open items requiring attention, however the resolved items can still be expanded at any time.
- History entries within the Defect and Workpack drawers have been updated to include additional details and more readable content.
- On the public CRS Resolution page, any EROPS checks will now have an additional selector to allow for marking the check as required, or not required, for that particular sign off.
Bug Fixes
- An issue where the serviceability was being updated while maintenance items were awaiting approval has been resolved.
- When a single defect is Released from the iPad Application, this created a Workpack on the Dashboard with no description or PO number. This behaviour has been corrected, and the Workpack list will remain clean without these phantom items.
